Dev Log Highlight: Dice Recognition Accuracy Climbs to 80%

Dice Link logo above the tagline ‘Your Dice. Your Roll. Any Table.’ and the words ‘Dev Log Post’, set against a purple fantasy background with a glowing crystalline d20 resting beside an open dice tray.

Every fortnight we post a full dev log on our Discord. Here’s the headline news from the latest one.

The dice recognition system took a real step forward this fortnight. When we first put an early version to the test, it correctly read the dice roughly three out of every four times. That number has now climbed to eight out of ten. It’s still a way off where it needs to be before it’s ready for actual gameplay (a misread roll during a real session just won’t do), but going from three in four to four in five in a single fortnight is genuinely exciting progress, and the team’s already working on what comes next to push it further.

There’s more detail behind this in the full dev log, including exactly how the recognition system is being taught and what’s coming next. Join us on Discord to read the whole thing and follow along as it happens.

If you have something to add to this, come along and join the conversation over on Discord.
